Elephants are highly intelligent animals, essentially on par with humans. Their social behavior is unique. They are peaceful and territorial. During droughts, they share water and food with each other. They have a special way of communicating (called “communication”), the infrasound of which is inaudible to humans. This allows elephants to communicate over vast distances of many kilometers.
When elephants encounter a dead person, they pause to observe the body, often covering it with dust or branches. Elephants don’t do this with any other animal. Elephants are very social, often touching and caressing each other. They also have feelings, just like humans. They are happy when family members meet. Elephants care for their family members and for weak or injured members, and mourn the death of a companion. They also have telepathic abilities.
